Recovering from Surgery
Recovering from Lazer-Lift is facilitated by Dr. Schafer's Rapid Recovery Method. Dr. Schafer created the Rapid Recovery Method in order to minimize swelling and bruising as well as to aid the body's ability to heal after surgery. Healing time is greatly reduced, discomfort is minimized, and patients can resume their normal activities within a few days.
Dr. Schafer's Rapid Recovery Method combines medical techniques with holistic approaches. The method includes vitamins, prescription medicines, external ultrasound vibration (to break up fat into sawdust size particles) and Tumescent Liposculpture. The Rapid Recovery Method inhibits bleeding and significantly decreases the chances of bruising.
After the surgery your face will be wrapped with a compression bandage that will also help to both minimize swelling as well as provide support to your face and neck. It will be applied immediately after the surgery and should be worn for several days. You will need a friend or family member to drive you home after the procedure and we recommend having someone stay with you for the first 24 to 48 hours.
Most people who have the Lazer-Lift performed on a Friday can return to work on the following Monday. Swelling typically peaks on the second or third day after the procedure, but most of the swelling will be gone within a week or two. Final results will continue to emerge in the following months. While you will have recovered enough to resume your normal activities, be patient in knowing that your body will continue to heal for six months or longer. This means that you will continuously see improvements.
