Jeffry B. Schafer, MD
Dr. Schafer is a fully trained surgeon who has performed thousands of surgeries, developed meaningful healing techniques, taught at several universities and contributed to many community organizations and charities.
- Experienced Surgeon. Dr. Schafer is a fully trained Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgeon. Dr. Schafer began in practice in 1973 and in the three decades he has been practicing has performed thousands of surgeries, including being a staff physician with Scripps Clinic and Research Institute in La Jolla and more than 10 years of Liposculpture procedures. Dr. Schafer continues to get the most up-to-date training and offers the latest technology.
- Liposculpture Expert. Dr. Schafer has studied liposuction with the best trained physicians on the procedure including Dr. Sergio Fischer, the father of liposculpture, Dr. Pierre Fournler, inventor of the syringe technique, and Dr. Jeffrey Klein, inventor of Tumescent liposuction.
- Innovative Pioneer. Dr. Schafer has invented cutting-edge advancements in the field of cosmetic surgery. Procedures such as Lazer-Lift, MicroLipo, and the Rapid Recovery Method provide better surgical techniques with less trauma to the body. Patients get the results they want with less down-time or discomfort.
- Teaching Physician. Dr. Schafer was a clinical instructor at the University of Alabama School of Medicine and taught at the University of California at San Diego.
- Fellowship Winner. Dr. Schafer was awarded fellowships at King's College of the University of London, England and the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington, DC.
- Community Member. Dr. Schafer participates in many community organizations and charities, ranging from the arts to volunteering medical help in needy communities. Some of these organizations include being a board member of Mainly Mozart, the San Diego Opera and Partners in Crime; contributing to the Salvation Army and numerous children's charities; volunteering his plastic and reconstructive skills for the Rotary Foundations Thousand Smiles in Mexico.
Cosmetic Counselors
Your first introduction to New Image Cosmetic Surgery Center is usually with our Cosmetic Counselors. They offer private, personal consultations during a patient's initial visit, including video imaging that can preview a patient's "new image" and can provide before-and-after photos of other patients who have had similar procedures. You can also review educational films, brochures and photos are available for your review. They can answer questions, provide information and coordinate a patient's surgery and after-care, as well as accommodations for out-of-town patients and guests. They are also available for internet consultations.
The Facility
Our cosmetic surgery practice is conveniently located on beautiful Coronado Island in San Diego. Conveniently located, we are less than 10 minutes away from downtown and the San Diego International Airport.
Surgical procedures are performed in our state-of-the-art surgical suite. Dr. Schafer's operating facility is certified by the California Institute for Medical Quality. The surgical staff includes highly trained Registered Nurses and Estheticians.
We also have a wonderful ocean-side after-care recovery facility. Here, you are pampered and cared for, one-on-one, 24/7 and are provided with meals and any assistance you need. This way you have help while you heal from an experienced staff in a comfortable and pleasing setting.
